About the Event
We are excited to invite in-house on December 20th-21st; 12-6 daily: Kaye Rishad
Kaye Rishad is a Seattle-based art-activist, comedian, survivor and truth teller.
Her art is focused firmly in anti-racism and anti-sexism work, told through a satirical lens. Many works are autobiographical spanning her experience through disability, dating, and mental illness, all held together by an abundance of pop-culture. All pieces are rendered digitally, and generally minimalist, retaining a hand-drawn and amateur aesthetic with painterly background details. She is disabled and mostly housebound. She’s visiting Sedona on what she’s calling The Great Western Roadtrip as a part of exposure therapy for driving related PTSD.
Her high-school art teacher once said she was a bad artist with sophomoric ideas, now she spills her guts via Apple Pencil on the internet. She lives with her adopted service dog and dreams about dwelling in a school bus tiny house.
This event if FREE and open to the public - Kaye will have a selection of works and prints with her for sale!
